UNITE for Changes

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Whether or not this quote originated from Ghandi is another discussion for another day, but this week, I want to pose a question: what does the term 'woke' mean to you? Do you consider yourself woke? If so, what actions or steps of activism do you take to protest, support or raise awareness of issues happening around the world?

I'm asking this question because, regardless of your political affiliation, it is now more than ever before with the current political climate that individuals want to make their voices heard. However, with the rampant fake news floating across our screens and digital devices, as well as the millennial generation being so social media focused, it's easy to get online and find an article with a headline about environmental, racial, human rights, societal or religious issues and share it with the world at the click of a button. But are the likes, comments and retweets truly enough, or do you want more?

I don't know about you, but I want more. I've constantly been searching for ways, besides Facebook, that I can get involved, give back to my community, support causes and raise awareness about certain issues, all while connecting with others who share the same viewpoints as me. The great news, is that I've recently become aware of a platform that fulfills these needs. This network, called UNITE for Changes, is a platform that enables individuals to donate to nonprofit organizations, charities, and causes, track how their donations are contributing to change, and elevate their efforts beyond monetary contributions by increasing involvement in their local community, and participating or creating events specific to their causes. All of these actions can be done via the UNITE application as well as the UNITE button, which connects to the mobile app and features multiple user-selected functions. When using this platform, you can truly UNITE for Changes you want to see in the world.

There is power in numbers. UNITY is exactly what we need during a time like this! But UNITE for Changes is so much more than a tech button and mobile application. It is a movement that changes the status quo and sparks activism, awareness, unity and equality among individuals like you and me who are dedicated to working towards bettering the world for all.

I highly encourage you to support this startup and join the community of 'Unifiers' if you are passionate about a certain cause and want to get involved. Check out the project on Kickstarter as well its website and social media to learn more. I promise it'll be worth your while!

If you decide to become a Unifier, leave a comment and let me know why you want to UNITE for Changes. I'll give you my reason: I want to UNITE for Changes because financial literacy and group economics are essential for my community. Black businesses, black minds and black lives matter!
