DOSE OF PROSE:
Hello readers, I'm back again with another OOTD. It's a simple fit that I wore to the movies when I saw Girls Trip (so good 10/10!) but I figured I would share it to help those of you who need some inspiration for what to wear when hanging out with friends or tips on styling ripped denim and monochrome. This entire outfit is from Zara (surprise, surprise). I don't usually wear ripped jeans but I loved the relaxed, boyfriend fit of these jeans and the fact that they didn't have too many rips was also a plus. In addition to jeans with rips, I also don't often wear clothing with words/graphics on them but I thought the love me or leave me wording stitched on these jeans added a cute, subtle yet sassy flare to the denim. I decided to go with a navy blue top to bring out the navy blue in the words. I could've dressed up this outfit even more but I kept it simple with my loafers, and polished off the look with rose gold accessories.
If you decide to wear denim that has a looser fit with rips like I did, I would suggest that you wear a fitted or cropped top so that the outfit doesn't look too baggy or overpower your shape. If you do wear a loose top/blouse/button-up then I would suggest to tuck the shirt in completely or at least in the front. By doing this, you are making the outfit polished but still relaxed and effortless. Unsure of what color top to wear? If your jeans have words or designs on them, try to wear a top with a color that accentuates those particular graphics. If this isn't the case for you, then you can't go wrong with a black or white top - these colors go with everything!
I called this lookbook 'Lovefool' because the jeans reminded me of the song Lovefool by the band The Cardigans. The song was released in 1996, so its an oldie but a goodie. Give it a listen if you haven't already. Until next time.
