Dose of Prose

My personal doppelgangers are Aja Naomi King, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Gabrielle Union. I am them, they are me, we are one. I’m a huge Being Mary Jane fan, and categorize MJ (aka Gabrielle) as #HairGoals. So of course once I found out that Gabrielle launched a hair care line, called Flawless, I could hardly contain my excitement. The timing of her launch was impeccable, as wash day was near and I was low on hair products. I decided to purchase her moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and wanted to give a brief review of my experience for any of my readers who wanted an honest perspective before they make a purchase.

Disclaimer: I currently have a sew-in with minimal leave-out. So my perspective of this review will be on how the products worked on my natural hair that was left out as well as my extensions.

INITIAL THOUGHTS
I ordered the products on the evening of March 30th and received them April 1st, which made my April Fools pretty amazing to say the least. In addition to the fast shipping, the packaging is beautiful. The products are in this bright blue color and I could tell that they were wrapped with care. I liked the personal touch that Gabrielle put in her packaging, because it makes me feel like she gave them to me personally.

EXPERIENCE + RESULTS
The smell of the products was amazing, and was probably the highlight of my experience. I’m not great with describing smells, but I guess the best way to describe it is that it reminded me of a light, fresh, floral scent. The shampoo lathered nicely and the conditioner was thick and creamy. The products had this beautiful, pearl-like, ivory, iridescent color and didn’t feel heavy nor did it weigh down my hair. I did not use a lot of products after washing and conditioning, I just put in a little heat protectant and mousse as I was blow-drying my hair. I will honestly say that my results were ‘flawless’ indeed. My hair smelled and still smells fresh and feels so soft. Since I tend to have dry hair, so far, my head feels thoroughly moisturized.

PROS/CONS
Apart from the price point of the products being slightly high, I having nothing but great things to say about this shampoo and conditioner. I feel that it’s light, natural, moisturizing and leaves my hair smelling great and feeling soft and shiny. My hair doesn’t feel stripped of any of its essential oils and I kept receiving compliments on my hair the next day when I went out in public.

RATING
9.5/10
I had to deduct .5 points since I do consider these products to be a slight investment in comparison to other cheaper hair care options, but I found this to be well worth the money. I cannot wait to make another purchase. Highly recommend!

Feel free to ask me any further questions on my experience with the Flawless line. Leave a comment and let me know if you enjoy reviews like this. I’d be happy to do more. Until next time.
